Description
Coding for Kids, ages 5 to 9. This class is an introduction to the very basic structures of programming. Your kids will get the opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes when they’re playing games on line, browsing their favorite sites etc. The class is presented in fun, easy to digest modules with plenty of opportunity for hands on demonstrations so they can see their changes appear live on the screen. We’ll even explore some ideas where the kids themselves are the code. They’ll be introduced to concepts such as if/else conditions, variables, coordinates, making shapes and changing the colors of objects on the screen. While the course is not intended to teach a specific computer language, most of the code examples given will be in JavaScript.
